Description:
Corporate management HR professional more than 20 years at various world class companies has started an entrepreneurship in Jamaica. Spent last year+ building and buying fiberglass boat (35'/4,000 lb capacity) and gear (nets/gps), and establishing crew, industry contacts & buying network for commercial fishing business. Currently resides in Jamaica and Canada part time. Has established social and business network in JA and can start returning a profit immediately, but needs additional $10K operating cash to fund first two trips to sea, with an initial catch goal of 6,000 lbs for the two trips (Grossing $16,000 Cdn). Additional trips would be self funded.
Buyers market for fresh fish in Jamaica and for export is almost limitless, as there is a high demand in the western part of the island and at local export wholesalers. Owner has established credible high volume buyers. The profit returns potential on a small investment is very good - with one boat up to $250,000/yr USD. Hard costs are 40% (crew and operations) I can provide 30% ROI in first year for a small investment of $10,000 USD or offer a partnership of 30% for an annual injection of $30,000 which would allow the business to launch a second boat immediately and increase profits to $500,000 USD or more annually through the development of direct buying, storage and distribution networks.
