Description:
We are a company dedicated to capturing the life stories of our clients to be told to all for generations to come. We offer an up close and personal interview with each client where we will help organize the clients individual life story, then we will capture the clients life as they choose to tell it on video. From there we will take the interview, photos and any notes or letters the client might use to refer to and scan them to a computer then edit them into the DVD so that they fit into the clients story. We will also offer a Photo DVD of the interview and story. On top of that we offer a chance for the client to put their story into a book that we can create for them so that they can have that biography to cherish then pass on so others will know of their legacy they will leave behind and so that they will never be forgotten.
We propose that we can expand our business so that we will not only be serving the public but be able to get funding so that we can document the lives of our veterans, then submit the individual documentaries to the Library Of Congress and preserve their stories for generations to come. In doing so we would be documenting and preserving individual pieces of American History.
In our proposal we will document and preserve a total of approximately 100 veterans a year for 5 years which in a 5 year period we will have interviewed and documented 500 war veterans life stories. We will then submit each documentary to the Library of Congress. With each veteran we will spend approximately 2 hours for a timeline set up , 4 hours for each interview , then 6 hours of editing. We will provide each veteran we interview with 1 DVD video of the interview , 1 DVD slide show of photos and documents, and 1 custom album of the photos used and taken during the interview. We will also make a copy of the interview to sent to the Library of Congress for preservation and reference.
Currently we do private in home interviews for the public. We come into home, hospital , and hospice environments of our clients. We start our fees at $500 then the package rates go up to $1000. Our fees cover the interview and materials needed as well as our time that we put into each documentary. We have been doing this for about 1 year. We started out by doing packages for friends and family then the word got out and we started to get more requests for business. That is when we decided to start the company Everlasting Legacy. We will continue to work with the public but we propose a grant that will cover the vets as well. In order for us to do this we will need to expand from working out of our home to an office and also we will need to hire some employees as well. For office space, advertisement, employees, equipment, upkeep for the next 5 years and 500 veteran packages we will need $2,423,850.
Below is a itemized chart for expenses needed:
500 Veteran packages = 1, 4 hour interview put on DVD once edited approximately 3 hr DVD which will then be put on 2 separate DVDs 1 for the veteran and 1 to be sent to the Library of Congress, 1 Photo DVD, 1 custom album with scanned photos placed in order according to DVD story. Then we will also store all files from interview and all photos scanned on a zip drive as well so that the file can be accessed if needed for future order or reference needs. $1000 per veteran = $500,000
3 employees with a yearly set salary at $36,000 x 5 years= $540,000
1 manager to help manage office and employees with a yearly salary set at $55,000 + $2400 cell phone allowance x 5 years= $287,000
Video, editing and software equipment = $49,000
Advertisement x 5 years = $193,150
Office space , and office equipment x 5 years = $549,700
Office upkeep x 5 years i.e.; utilities, insurance, cleaning, maintenance = $305,000
